New Horizons Leadership Programme (NHLP-EU) is a leadership programme led by Cirkus Syd, Rigas Cirks and DYNAMO.
Please read carefully the requirements and eligibility criteria before submitting your application via the form at the bottom of this webpage.

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

The 10 month programme (Sept 23 - June 24) is aimed towards capacity building for emerging project managers and producers to support the growing scene of contemporary circus within Europe. Through NHLP-EU emergent and confident persons are able to develop their leadership capabilities within the field and ready to take on tomorrow’s challenges as producers, artistic directors, project managers, dramaturges, executive directors, technical producers, tour managers, board members and organisational development functions. For us leadership is not about being superior or the boss. We believe anyone can be a leader from the position that they stand on co-creating the world and future we want to live in.

We believe that to strengthen the position of not only the circus field, but culture in society, future leaders need skills and competencies to impact beyond their organisation and the field itself. Thus, there is a strong demand for the development of the next generation of cultural managers and producers as strong leaders, who are equipped to deal with present and coming challenges.

This 10 month program is created for confident, reflective and proactive initiative taking persons to be able to develop into leaders of our circus field and ready to take on tomorrow’s challenges.

We are searching for 10 individual fellows from across Europe to participate in the programme, who will be matched with 10 experts from the circus field in Europe.

The fellows and experts will meet live in person at the NHLP-EU kick-off in Lund, Sweden the 7-8th of September which is also the official start of the 10 month programme.

Fellows will receive a handbook to work with over the next 10 months, and will be required to attend a monthly digital event which includes a seminar and discussions on a leadership cross-cutting topic. The fellows and experts will agree on a 3 week period when the fellow will travel to shadow the expert at their workplace in another country.

The fellows will be required to share their learning and thoughts informally on the NHLP-EU digital platform in formats of their own choice. It could be via blog, video blog, photos etc. Read the blogs of past participants in the Nordic-Baltic NHLP 2020-2021 here.
