About the event
This second seminar on October 18th we will talk about the concept of accessibility. Accessibility in the arts and culture is often talked about in the frame of disability arts or audiences. Today we will talk about ability and how people are differently abled and as such how we can create and facilitate access to opportunities for people of all abilities? Can we extend the idea of ‘all abilities’ beyond the ability of the body and mind to reflect what change is possible when accessibility perspectives are considered include all people and skills?
We will also have a guest presentation from Kim Simpson "Disabled leader co-creating inclusive cultures". Kim is a disabled leader passionate about working with others to bring about positive change in the cultural sector and co-creating a more just and equitable society. She is currently Head of Equalities, Diversity and Inclusion at Creative Scotland, The Arts Council of Scotland.
